Kids enjoy listening to fairy tales and short stories. Narrate some fun-filled and interesting short stories to kids such as The Ugly Duckling, Cinderella, Snow White etc. Once they have developed an interest of listening to stories, encourage your kid to read a story by him/herself. As they will read, they will be introduced to new words. So sit beside them and teach them the meaning of big words, which are new to them.
